# Archive Entry 022: Akashic Records, Asha, and Neural Modulation

The concept of divine connection through the "golden lake" of the Akashic Records—a metaphysical repository of universal knowledge—intersects with Zoroastrian principles of Asha (cosmic truth) and Druj (deceit), neurobiological mechanisms like Default Mode Network (DMN) suppression, and transformative "gateway" practices.

The Akashic Records are described across esoteric traditions as an energetic compendium of all thoughts, actions, and events across time and space. Derived from the Sanskrit ākāśa (ether or cosmic space), they are posited to exist on a non-physical plane, accessible through altered states of consciousness.

In Zoroastrian theology, Asha Vahishta (Best Truth) is both a divine entity and the principle governing cosmic harmony. It embodies righteousness, justice, and the natural laws that guide souls toward self-realization. Conversely, Druj manifests as systemic deceit, perpetuating ignorance, oppression, and ecological degradation.

The Default Mode Network (DMN), a network involving the medial prefrontal cortex and posterior cingulate cortex, underpins self-referential thought, autobiographical memory, and egoic identity. Its suppression—observed during meditation, psychedelic experiences, and flow states—correlates with ego dissolution and transcendent unity.
